Christmas Stockings for Hospitalized Babies
Each year volunteers from Neighbors Helping Newborns sew hundreds of Christmas stockings that are sized just big enough to hold a newborn baby. In December, we deliver them to local hospitals so that nurses can dress the babies in their care in the stockings during Christmas week. It means so much to the families with babies who are hospitalized during the holiday season to see a little bit of that spirit inside the NICU! Our goal this year is to complete 500 stockings for babies in 20 local hospitals.
Crafters Quarters is pleased to donate the gorgeous studio space to help create these marvelous holiday gifts. Come to CQ for a social, fun day of cutting, pressing, and sewing the baby stockings. There are no equipment or materials requirements — just your time and willing energy. (If you do wish to bring your sewing machine, we would welcome the extra help!)
Drop by for as long as you’re available! No RSVP necessary and very little experience is required. Well-behaved, older, supervised, responsible children are also invited, so bring your kids to teach them more about charitable giving and community service.
