Get to know your serger!

Skill level:  Serger novice through expert!

Sometimes just looking at a serger can be intimidating.  But no longer!

If you haven’t taken the time to get to know your serger, don’t waste another minute.  Jan Bickford is a serging queen who will have you feeling at ease with your machine in no time!  You will cover the major parts and functions of the machine, learn the basics of threading, explore rolled hems, do elastic insertion, create gorgeous decorative finishes, and more!  You will no longer dread using your serger — you may even love it so much you might start looking for serging projects!

Materials List:

  • Serger in good working condition with power cord and accessories (if you have any)
  • 4 spools of good quality serger thread - in 4 different colors is even better.  Maxi-Lock will be fine.
  • 22 inches of 1-inch elastic
  • 1/2 yd solid-color muslin, or similar weight fabric
  • 1/4 yd polar fleece
  • 1/8 yd denim, home dec, or similar weight fabric

Workshop fee $45 ($35 for members)
