Experienced knitter and volunteer instructor Gail Picard has devised a new charitable program to teach you a whole bunch of new stitches as well as donate knitted afghans to Neighbors Helping Newborns! Whether you are a beginner or experienced knitter, we invite you to spend every other Sunday with us creating various patches that will be sewn together to make adorable newborn knitted blankets.

In this 2-day seminar Deby will show you how to do the basics for all of your upholstery projects!
Bring in an ottoman or a dining room-style chair and your new fabrics… In two sessions you will have learned all the basic skills you need to upholster any piece in your house!

Master Seamtress Deby Ryan will be at the CQ studio for FREE personal consultations. Bring in your alterations, upholstery, or garment design issues and she’ll offer her advice based on over 3 decades of experience. Then you can decide whether you’d like to tackle it on your own, book a class, or have Deby do all the work for you! No high-pressure sales, just great advice.

Design absolutely fabulous quilts using just one fabric! Using the Maxine Rosenthal’s One Block Wonders method, we will create hexagonal kaleidoscope-like blocks from a single print. The blocks fit together to make completely a completely unique quilt. The final quilt will be about the size of a small throw — unless you decide to add more to it! Unlike other hexagonal block patterns, there are no Y-seams using this method, just sew in straight lines!

This adorable quilt is actually super easy using the Square in a Square® technique! Nine stars create a beautiful wall hanging, but you can add more blocks or borders to make a quilt of any size. Whether brand-new or advanced quilters, students will learn how to produce blocks with perfect points every time – without cutting or sewing a single triangle! Use patriotic colors for a great table runner, bright colors for a fun baby quilt, or beautiful batiks for a more exotic bed quilt. Read more >

Join Ellen to learn how to create a beautiful block by using paper-piecing and templates.

Gail Picard
Avid quilter Gail Picard will show you how to create a super-easy, fun, quilted tote bag — the perfect carry-all! Use it for your crafts, going to the beach, shopping, or as a great purse. The finished size is approximately 16″H x 11″W x11″D, but you can adjust this pattern to create bags of different sizes. Read more >

Bring your scissors and shears to the studio and have our repair expert Carmen Morreale sharpen them up! He even smooths out pin-nicks!

- Knife-edge shears & left-handed shears: $12

Although we welcome drop-ins, it would be helpful if Carmen knows about how many shears to expect that night. So, please, give us a call at 978-388-8000 if you know you will be bringing by something for him to sharpen. Thanks!
