This workshop will introduce students to the ancient craft of making decorative ceramic tiles. Students will be instructed in using a slab roller, plaster molds, and tile cutters to make tiles of various sizes and shapes. Decorative techniques using textured stamps and carving tools will also be taught. Students will create between 4-6 tiles during this 3-hour workshop.

Glazing and painted decoration will be accomplished in our follow-on Handpainted Ceramic Tiles workshop, held on August 21!  (Students are not required to take the August workshop.) Read more >
