- Block of the Month!
- On the first Wednesday each month, one of the Oh Scrappers will present a block
- Each member will make the block out of the scraps of their choice
- At the end, you will have a completely unique quilt — and you may learn a few new skills along the way!
- Jump in anytime — this is an ongoing club, so you can start your BOM at any point
- Cut your fabric scraps into common quilt-ready sizes (you may use the AccuQuilt Studio cutting system to speed up the process!)
- Organize your scraps to make quilting the pieces easy and fun
- Exchange scraps with others to gather the colors, prints, tones, or sizes you need for your projects
- Sew your own scrap quilts and share them with others
- Discover various scrap quilt patterns and decide whether to use them for your next patchwork project!

Design absolutely fabulous quilts using just one fabric! Using the Maxine Rosenthal’s One Block Wonders method, we will create hexagonal kaleidoscope-like blocks from a single print. The blocks fit together to make completely a completely unique quilt. The final quilt will be about the size of a small throw — unless you decide to add more to it! Unlike other hexagonal block patterns, there are no Y-seams using this method, just sew in straight lines!
Skill level: Confident beginner, you should know how to rotary cut and do machine sewing. We will teach you the rest!

Bring in an ottoman or a dining room-style chair and your new fabrics… In just two sessions you will have learned all the basic skills you need to upholster any piece in your house!

This amazing workshop will help you do something you may never have done before: design, develop, and sew your own story quilt! The process will give you a fabulous new vehicle for your creativity. You’ll have the chance to explore color and improvisation and celebrate a story of your life — it could be an action, an emotion, a blessing, an event, a place, a thought, or an observation. By the end of the class, you will have a completed quilt top ready for quilting and embellishment.

So, you want to learn how to sew! Great! Dust off that sewing machine and get ready to learn basic skills for garment construction. Sewing your own garments is really not as difficult as it may sound. This 4-session workshop will take you through the basic elements of getting to know your sewing machine, fabric choices, and how to decipher the pattern envelope and the instructions inside. We will make comfy lounge pants while you will learn the following basic skills and techniques:
- Anatomy of a sewing machine (threading, stitch controls, tension, speed control, and feed dog)
- Bobbins (drop-in vs bobbin case, winding the bobbin)
- All about Patterns (reading the envelope, getting the right size)
- Fabric selection (fabric design features, fabric nap)
- Sewing tools (What will you need?)
- Deciphering the pattern!!!!
- Pattern layout (choosing the pattern pieces, straight of the grain, fold line, stitching line, pinning, notches, right vs wrong side, salvage)
- Cutting skills and pattern markings
- Garment construction skills (seam allowance, straight and curved seams, machine hemming, waist casing with elastic)
- How and why to press properly

Instructor: Dana Demers of Spiritual Wilderness Adventures
Drumming workshops are designed to honor the Native American people and the spirit of the material we’re working with. In most cases we offer Elk or Deer hide and Maple or Cedar. As with all workshops, sacred space is created to work in with calling in the directions and honoring of the elements as well as ancestors.
